The mission of the Mesoamerican Cultural Preservation project is to document four vanishing Central American cultures - Maya, Lacandon, Huichol, Tarahumara - providing historical, cultural and visual tools for present and future Latino generations and scholars.

This project will achieve visual anthropology that will be donated to areas serving Latino communities where the vulnerable youth are at high risk - raising the awareness and enhancing the capacity of culture perspectives will strengthen diverse culture appreciation. This will create a positive, effective, educational understanding regarding cultural heritage that results in improved behavior, better relationships and higher achievement for Hispanic youth.

Project Objectives
                                > educate Latino youth through empowering images (documentary book & video) that enrich and deepen an acknowledgment and understanding of their indigenous heritage and the fading traditions of their ancestors; initiating a new awareness and pride in their ethnic identity
                                 > create visual historical documentation to serve as archival records of the disappearing tribal customs and traditions of these cultures and function a a "window into the past" for future scholars
                                 > donate the project's book and documentary to schools/libraries/outreach programs serving Latino communities throughout California

Any profits from the sale of the documentary or book will be earmarked for future projects that secure the perpetuation of indigenous peoples, and that fall under IRS Section 501(c)(3) tax regulations.
